Woman in Islam Treated Justly,
not Equally
Islam treats
man and woman justly but not equally, as equality does not always mean justice.
Let’s take the example of a weak person who can barely carry 40 pounds of wieght and a strong man who can easily carry
a hundred pounds of weight. Now asking
both; the weak and the strong to carry a 100 pounds is equality but it is
extremely unjust as we are making the weak to do something that he is not
capable of.
I would like to make clear that I am not
trying to prove that men are better than women. I am just trying to prove that
they are different, as most of the above mentioned disparities might have been caused
by the difference of interests of both genders. Interests of man are different than those of woman. But
this again proves my point that man and woman are different and justice
requires to treat them differently as it requires to teat the equals equally.
